Intro
Are you cozy? Got your fresh brewed coffee/tea steaming at your side? Cat/Dog/Iguana nestled on your lap? Good, ’cause this is loooong.
For the past few months I’ve dedicated more time to building out resources on this blog and furthering my transgender advocacy. But it gets lonely behind my computer screen. And cold. And frankly, I lose touch with my reasons for putting so much physical, mental, emotional, and financial energy into this work. I lose motivation. I get depressed. It seeps into other areas of my life, and I don’t see the point in anything. Except perhaps sleeping, that feels nice.
Cue existential crisis.
(Excuse me for drowning you in my emotions, but 48% of you did ask for more of “Micah’s personal story”).
The best way for me to get out of this funk is to reconnect with the WHY behind the what, rekindle the fire that fuels this passion project. I deemed it high time I heard back from my readers to get a sense of who you are, what you enjoy reading, how useful my nonsense is to you, and throw some love my/your way.
I hope you enjoy this analysis as much as I enjoyed reading all 528 responses!
About the Analysis
For categorical questions, I used data queries and/or basic math formulas. For the free-form questions, I used simple string queries, then read every single answer and noted ones that jumped out, rigorously eyeballing trends and patterns.

Sprinkled in are plenty of opinions and commentary from yours truly. If anything sounds sarcastic, insert smiley tearful emoji for emphasis: 😂
In total it has amounted to ~30 hours of work.

Thank you for doing this! I’m always doubtful, and your blog doesn’t give all the answers, but I still appreciate it greatly. Seeing all the educators/therapists/health people reading this gives me hope for what is being taught – what you’re teaching – to this and future generations of people. I’m an I/ENTP/J, enneagram 4w5.
Personality type: INTJ, melancholy/choleric; don’t know enneagrams. I made my kids wait to go to the park while I read this. Was I really the ONLY lawyer?
Two lawyers, both mid-20s, one in US and one in Australia. I hope one of those is you otherwise my data is all wrong!
I answered the survey, but maybe I missed the deadline.
I’m kind of uncategorizable. But I get INTP a lot. *shrug*
