Testosterone, Are You There? It’s Me, Micah.

October 12, 2015by micah 16 Comments

I’ve been injecting testosterone into alternating thighs every two weeks for the past 3 years or so. Sometimes I wonder if it’s doing what it’s supposed to be doing because my dose is too low. Sometimes I wonder what’s it’s supposed to be doing in the first place.

Post Transition

May 22, 2013by micah 14 Comments

As I envision the person I’ll become in 5, 10, 25, or even 45 years, I’m certain everything about me will change, including my gender – how I feel about it, how I look, how others see me. Being trans is a lifelong condition, just another part of being human.

📚Nonbinary Memoirs: Oakland Book Release Event! 🌈⚡️🎉 . Thurs Nov 21 7-9pm East Bay Booksellers / Diesel Oakland, CA @eastbaybooksellers --- . In Nonbinary: Memoirs of Gender and Identity, published in April 2019 by Columbia University Press (@columbiauniversitypress) 30 authors dive deep into how their experiences are shaped by a deeply entrenched gender binary. . Come out to East Bay Booksellers to celebrate the release of this groundbreaking anthology. Editor Scott Duane (@gendermathdance) will discuss the motivations behind the book and the process of its creation. Authors (@sandfidence) Sand Chang and Zaedryn Rook (@zaedryn) will read from their pieces, followed by Q&A, book signing, and socializing with our community. Light snacks and wine provided. Books will be available for purchase. . Whether you're #nonbinary yourself or just want to learn more and support, we encourage you to come out. All are welcome! . Special thanks to editor Micah Rajunov, whose hard work over six years steered this ship all the way to publication. You can read more by Micah at his blog, genderqueer.me . . . "This book is beyond vital. It is the anthology I've always yearned for, but never realized could be real. Nonbinary blows open the core fo the thing, goes straight for the heart, burrows deeps and then some. In a world that insists trans and nonbinary people adopt consistent, easy-to-digest messaging about who we are, this anthology stands bravely above the noise, boldly declaring our multiplicity as our beauty, our contradiction as our multifaceted shimmer." - Jacob Tobia, (@jacobtobia) author of Sissy: A Coming-of-Gender Story . . Purchase the book with code CUP30 for 30% off: https://cup.columbia.edu/book/nonbinary/9780231185332 . . . #nonbinary #genderqueer #nonbinarybooks #queerbooks #queerbookstagram #queerbookclub #transgender #nonbinarywriter #nonbinarywriters #transbooks #transauthors #genderdiversity #genderfluid #oaklandqueers #nonbinarymemoirsofgenderandidentity .
#transformationtuesday 😲 From 14 to 40! . I started T in 2012, was on and off for a year or two, and have been on low dose ever since. Whether it's T or age or both, I certainly look different. More importantly I feel different ☺️ . Although this is not quite what I expected to look like (hello facial hair) I look like me, every day. Honestly I don't know what I expected myself to look like at 33, because at the time I had not found any publicly visible nonbinary role models who had medically transitioned. . So here's a shout out to all those #trans #genderqueer #nonbinary folks who have opened themselves up to share their story, in private or in public, with others who will follow. ❤️🧡💛💚💙

Yesterday I was at my local bookstore and walked over to the 🌈 LGBTQ section. Tucked in the middle of the bottom-most shelf near the floor I saw 2 of my books! 📙📙 But when I came back to the shelf to show my spouse there was only one book. 📙 🤔 . I looked up and noticed the folks in front of me were holding the other copy. I was too shy to say something 😶 as the pair walked away, book in hand 📙 . I don't know if they bought it in the end. But for the first time, I felt ~something~ 🌟 My heart pounded with excitement 💗💓❤️ for a full minute. The reality of putting a piece of myself out there finally hit me. . I don't know what I would've felt had I come across a book like this when I was first discovering my #nonbinary gender 🧩🔎 10 years ago. What I did find is a community who helped me become me. . This anthology is a window into the lives of 30 people who beautifully express the challenges and possibilities of gender diversity. I hope many many many others find whatever they are looking for in at least one of these 30 stories ❤️🧡💛💚💙 . . . . #genderqueer #transgender #transpride #genderstudies #nonbinarybooks #nonbinarymemoirsofgenderandidentity #genderidentity #genderfluid #agender #tomboy #queer #femme #trans #queerbooks #queerlit #nonbinarypride #androgynous #genderdiversity #genderspectrum
